Povilas Vanagas was a six
time Lithuanian Champion in single skating before switching to ice dance. With Margarita
(Rita) Drobiazko, he found a strong partner. The Lithuanians always come up with original
and technically difficult routines. Their "Alcatratz" program (Free Dance
1998/99) is a highlight, and according to famous dance coach Martin Skotnicky, they would
have deserved a medal for it at the 1999 Europeans in Prague.
Both quit their amateur career in 2002. |
