Marika and
Philip has been skating together since 1995. After they had to withdrew their
participation at the 1998 British National Championships due to an injury and they missed
their qualification for the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan, they split at the
end of 1997.
They drew the attention when they changed
their free dance between the 1997 European Championships and 1997 World Championships in
just a couple of weeks and created a great program to "Lord of the Dance", long
before other skaters worldwide took up that idea.
Marika continued her skating career with
Vitaliy Baranov. |
