Alexander or Sasha, as he is called by his friends, was taken to the ice rink by his grandmother. No one else in his family is involved in any sports.

Unfortunaly this outstandingly talented and musical skater has been handicapped by various injuries. He already underwent surgery on both knees and had a nasty accident in 1996 during an exhibition in Mexico when he crashed into the boards and cut his leg with his own blade.
