| Elaine Asanakis and Alcuin
Schulten have been skating together since 1997. Elaine
used to skate with Joel McKeever until 1997 for Greece. Both come from New York and were
professional skaters before they decided to continue their career within the competitive
ranks.
Alcuin Schulten used to skate with his sister Jeltje for
the Netherlands until 1997. They were several times Dutch National Champions. When he
continued his skating career with Elaine he had to wait a year due to the change of nation
to be allowed to skate for Greece. During the 1998 European Championships he worked as the
team doctor for the Greece Skating Team.
After their one and only appearance as amateur skaters at
the 1998 World Championships Elaine and Alcuin turned pro.
