Elena Berezhnaya
used to skate with Oleg Sliakhov until a bad accident in January 1996. While practising a
side-by-side camal spin Oleg started to travel, hit Elena's head with his blade and
injured her seriously. Elena was in a coma for some time and had to stay in hospital for
month. Additionally the injury had affected her speech ability.
In summer 1996 Elena started to skate again with Anton Sikharulidze.
