Katharina
Rybkowski has been a singles skater training under Isabel de Navarre and Hugo Dümler in
Dortmund until 1998. Rico Rex started skating in 1980 and was coached by Steffi Ruthkies
in Chemnitz.
Katharina and Rico started skating pairs together in 1998. Rico used to skate with Silvia
Dimitrov from 1993 to 1998 but unfortunately Silvia had to quit her pairs figure skating
career due to several injuries.
The pair split in 2000. Rico paired up with Stefanie Weiss, later
with Eva-Maria Fitze.
